After playing the live scene here in Adelaide countless times over, The Transatlantics have become one of our most successful exports in recent times, and a band to be proud of. After releasing their 2010 self-titled debut on UK label Freestyle Records, the band has been busy supporting some of the biggest names in funk and soul music, including Marva Whitney, Roy Ayers and The Menahan St Band to name a few.
They are busy preparing their second album, slated for release in October this year, and the band’s drummer Kevin van der Zwaag joined Eithne and Sam in the studio to talk about life in The Transatlantics circa 2012.
